PORT HURON, MI — Of all the bizarre items that have been confiscated by border officials, this may be the most gruesome and bizarre.

U.S. border officials have seized a human brain that was found in a Canadian mail truck originating in Toronto. The shipment was headed for Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency said officers found the brain in a clear glass mason jar with no paperwork during a routine check at the crossing between Sarnia, Ontario and Port Huron, Michigan.

And in an even sicker twist of fate, the discovery was made on Valentine’s Day of all days.

Officials say the manifest listed the item as an ‘antique teaching specimen.’

Specialists are in contact with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to figure out what to do with the confiscated organ.
