TORONTO — The X Games, the leading action sports event, has announced the X Games California 2023, scheduled for July 15 – 23.
The world’s most elite action sports athletes will light up the Southern California coast with events in San Diego, Los Angeles and a finals weekend at the Ventura County Fairgrounds & Event Center.
The games will feature 50+ hours of competition with more than 150 skateboard, BMX and Moto X athletes, with stars like Nyjah Houston and Sky Brown, plus surprise musical guests.
Visit California and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner have partnered with X Games to, respectively, generate excitement and provide sustainable travel up the coast for each tour stop. The Pacific Surfliner is the second busiest Amtrak route in the U.S. and one of the nation’s most scenic train routes. The train travels along the Southern California coast, through diverse landscapes that include beaches, low mountain passes and agriculture.
“We are thrilled to return to the home of action sports this summer. We are reimagining events along the coast of California and strengthening the fan experience whether you’re watching live in-person or on broadcast,” said Steve Flisler, X Games CEO. “Ventura is rolling out the red carpet. It provides the ultimate ocean and mountain backdrop to showcase never-been-done tricks and the progression of action sports, celebrating the greatest athletes on the planet in their respective disciplines.”
This summer will mark the first time in three years since X Games fans last came together.
Tickets are now on sale and the full schedule of events will be announced in the coming weeks.
As the birthplace of skateboarding and BMX, California is a natural fit for this festival. For more information about the upcoming X Games, or to learn more about Cali, go to VisitCalifornia.com.
