COLUMBUS — This is not a drill, people! The world’s first-ever crowdfunded craft beer hotel is now open, complete with in-room taps and minibars in every room and shower.
According to ‘Travel + Leisure’, Scottish beer company BrewDog has successfully opened The DogHouse hotel in Columbus, Ohio after launching a crowdfunding campaign in March 2017. Thanks to beer lovers everywhere and their generosity, the company was able to open the 32-room boutique hotel just 17 months later, and people are already going nuts for it.
For one thing, there’s a lobby bartender who hands out complimentary drinks to guests upon arrival, not to mention beer pong in the lobby and malted barley massages at the spa.
Some rooms come equipped with a wet bar and views of BrewDog’s sour beer facility, while other rooms are dog-friendly so that beloved four-legged pals can join in on all the fun.
Other top-selling features? Beer-paired breakfasts, a marketplace for takeaway food, eight deluxe suites, a workout facility featuring Rogue Fitness equipment, rainfall showers, complimentary Wi-Fi, and locally-made craft beer soaps.
And let’s not forget about those super-hip in-room taps and shower minibars that ensure a cold one is never more than an arms’ length away.
It all sounds amazing except for one thing: how do you get guests to actually leave the shower?
