CALGARY — WestJet is offering travel agents and one companion 50% to 75% off regular published Y fares, based on availability, for bookings made by Dec. 15 with no blackout dates.

To take advantage of the special rates agents are asked to call WestJet’s Travel Support team at 1-877-664-3205, Monday to Sunday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. MT. Taxes and fees are extra.

Fares and space are limited and subject to availability. The 75% discount on Y fares applies when G inventory is available. The 50% discount on Y fares applies when M inventory is available.

Agents are asked to provide the following details at time of booking:

• Flight information (dates of travel and preferred/alternate flight numbers)
• Names and contact information of travellers
• Agency information (personal IATA/UFTAA code [VER# or ACTA#] and IATA/TIDS)
• A valid credit card

Reservations are permitted any time prior to departure (based on availability) for domestic, transborder and international flights.

A valid IATA/UFTAA and a valid 10 digit ACTA/verification number are required. The IATA/UFTAA ID card number is a mandatory field. “We will electronically verify your ACTA/verification number for validation. Please be prepared to show your IATA or UFTAA at the airport,” says WestJet.

Some restrictions apply, including: travel agent bookings are non-commissionable and non-refundable; Plus fare seats may not be booked through the travel agent discount program; codeshare and interline bookings may not be booked through the travel agent discount program; and free seat selection is not included (but may still be purchased at the regular pre-reserved seat prices).

WestJet Vacations has also sent out a reminder about its travel agent and companion (positive space) discount program, offering travel agents and up to three additional companions 20% off positive space air and hotel packages on one file (in one hotel room). Individual deviations are not permitted. The booking deadline for these special rates is also Dec. 15, with several blackout dates for the remainder of 2017, including: Sept. 4 – 5, 2017; Oct. 5 – 6, 2017; Oct. 9 – 10, 2017; Nov. 9 – 14, 2017; Dec.14 – 24, 2017; Dec. 26 – 31, 2017.
