CALGARY — WestJet saw its load factor rise to 79% in May, up 0.5 percentage points from May 2013.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 4.8% year-over-year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 4.1% over the same period. The airline flew 1.6 million guests in May, a year-over-year increase of 5.1% or more than 77,000 additional guests.
“We are very pleased with our continued strong year over year traffic growth as a record number of guests in May chose to fly with WestJet,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
