CALGARY — WestJet’s latest additions to its Winnipeg network include new year-round, daily service to Montreal, as well as increased, daily, year-round service to Ottawa, beginning June 3.
WestJet has also announced new seasonal service between Winnipeg and Nashville, set to take off on Sept. 16.
“We know how critical Ottawa and Montreal are for Winnipeg’s business community, and we are thrilled to continue supporting Winnipeg’s economic growth through strategic air service,” said Mike Scott, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. “Expanding connectivity for Winnipeg is in direct response to our WestJet Rewards members and loyal business guests’ need for reliable and convenient, nonstop service to and from both Ottawa and Montreal.”
A special event at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport was attended by the Manitoba’s Premier, Wab Kinew, and Nick Hays, President and CEO, Winnipeg Airports Authority.
WestJet will connect Winnipeg to over 23 nonstop destinations this year, with the addition of Montreal and Nashville. Winnipeg passengers can also connect to WestJet’s growing list of global destinations, including Incheon International Airport in Seoul and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, through WestJet’s hub in Calgary.
To Ottawa, WestJet flights will depart Winnipeg at 5:15 p.m. daily, arriving in Ottawa at 8:50 p.m. On the return, flights will depart Ottawa at 9:35 p.m., arriving back in Ottawa at 11:26 p.m.
To Montreal, flights will depart Winnipeg at 9:35 a.m. daily, arriving in Montreal at 1:20 p.m. Coming back, flights will leave Montreal at 2:20 p.m., landing in Winnipeg at 4:30 p.m.
Between Winnipeg and Nashville, WestJet will operate twice weekly service on a seasonal basis from Sept. 16 – Nov. 15. Flights depart Winnipeg at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Nashville at 2:20 p.m. On the return, flights depart Nashville at 7:40 a.m., arriving in Winnipeg at 10:25 a.m.
