TORONTO — As much as the Canadian travel industry is hoping for some recovery to international markets in 2021, for some Canadians, domestic getaways will still be the preferred option. That could be good news for Club Med Quebec Charlevoix.
The all-season Club Med Quebec Charlevoix – the first all-inclusive mountain resort in Canada, and the first Club Med in Canada – is set to open Dec. 3, 2021. The resort was originally scheduled to open December 2020, but there were delays. Now the timing may work to its favour, as many Canadians look for vacations close to home.
Sales for Club Med Quebec Charlevoix are now open. Winter pre-sale rates, available to book through March 9, 2021, start at $239 per night, per person, all-inclusive, for travel Dec. 3, 2021 – April 10, 2022.
Agents can learn more about the property and its offerings by attending a Club Med Quebec Charlevoix on Tues. Dec. 15, starting at 2 p.m. EST.
Designed with packages, services and accommodations for families, couples, singles, friends and Meetings & Events groups, the 4-Trident resort will offer 302 rooms including an Exclusive Collection space with 25 suites.
Showcasing the resort in an online presentation yesterday, events hosts Club Med’s Amélie Brouhard, Vice-President, Club Med Canada and Mexico, and David Meyer, Project Director, Club Med North America, walked the trade through the project, a new-build with views of the St. Lawrence River.
“Club Med Quebec Charlevoix will have absolutely beautiful views,” said Meyer, adding that all rooms will have balconies, and all suites and deluxe rooms will have river views.
The decor theme of the three dining venues and bar are in keeping with the resort’s emphasis on local signatures and the colours of Quebec’s landscapes, from winter white, twilight blue and yellow from the Boreal Forest, to the carmine red of the countryside’s barn doors.
The resort’s wellness spaces offer a variety of experiences for guests to unwind, including a 23-metre heated pool, the biggest pool in a Club Med mountain resort, boasting great views of the St. Lawrence River. There’s also a kids splash pool, outdoor jacuzzi and hammam. Guests can indulge in an à la carte well-being experience inspired by Nordic spas, including a terrace with warm and cold baths, a sauna with a panoramic river view, massages and treatments and even a snow fountain.
Guests can take advantage of a full roster of activities included in their stay: snowshoe and Nordic walking, ice-skating, indoor pool access, fitness classes, cardio and weight room access, yoga and meditation and the quintessential Club Med circus classes, indoors, with juggling, fixed trapeze, acrobatics and trampolining on demand. And there’s plenty of activities for kids, including skiing lessons for children as young as four.
Skiing, of course, is the biggest winter season highlight. Ski and snowboard passes and classes encourage every guest to hit the slopes. Packages with durations including 2-nights, 3-nights and 7-nights all come with ski passes, ski lessons, Kids Clubs and unlimited access to après ski activities.
For non-skiiers, winter in Charlevoix offers outdoor fun at local attractions in the region, from dogsledding and snowmobiling to ice-fishing and even ice-canoeing.
“We are thrilled to open bookings for Club Med Québec Charlevoix,” says Brouhard. “Canadians have been visiting Club Med resorts for decades and we are honoured to be able to bring Club Med’s legacy as worldwide leader in all-inclusive travel to the exceptional Charlevoix region. We can’t wait to open our doors December 2021 to longtime fans of the brand and first-time guests, while showcasing everything our all-season resort has to offer.”
