VISIT DENVER taps Pulse Travel Marketing as in-market rep for Canada

TORONTO — Pulse Travel Marketing has been named the in-market representative for VISIT DENVER.

The agency will work with the VISIT DENVER staff, and in state partners to keep the Colorado capital top of mind with the travel trade, consumer and key distribution media channels in Canada, Colorado’s number one source of international visitors.

Initiatives for the newly re-appointed VISIT DENVER Canada team will include the development and implementation of a strategic communications program to increase the profile of VISIT DENVER and maximize multi-media opportunities.

Denver is known for its distinctive neighbourhoods, world-class museums, sporting events, and culture. Top visitor attractions include Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium, Denver Botanic Gardens and Meow Wolf. Denver is also a gateway for many for Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park. The Mile High City was named 2020’s #1 city to visit in the world by Rough Guides and among the top 10 places in the world to visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet.

Nonstop flights into Denver are available with several carriers including WestJet and Air Canada, who have increased access to its capital. Convenient high-speed rail service connects Denver International Airport (DEN) with the city’s central Union Station.

Denver welcomed a record-breaking – by a wide margin – 36.3 million visitors in 2022. That was a 15% increase over 2021.  Visitor spending generated US$9.4 billion in tourism revenue, up from the previous record of $7 billion spent in 2019.

“We aim to fast track our efforts and creatively market Denver to Canadians and are honoured that VISIT DENVER has chosen to continue our partnership. We look forward to working closely with media partners and the travel industry across Canada to raise the profile and increase the number of Canadian travellers to this sports and tourism capital,” said Sana Keller and Annika Klint, Managing Partners, Pulse Travel Marketing/KAI.

“Canadians will be amazed at the diversity of this city, its acclaimed culinary scene, thriving arts and cultural arena, family-friendly activities and outdoor and urban experiences available in Colorado’s capital city.  We are excited at the rewarding work that lies ahead and join VISIT DENVER in congratulating the Nuggets on their first NBA championship title win at Ball Arena in Denver,” added Keller.

Jesse Davis, director of public relations and communications for VISIT DENVER, said: “As Denver continues its ascension among the top visitor destinations in the world, and tourism continues to be a key economic driver, we have enlisted Pulse Travel Marketing to help us develop a public relations strategy designed to grow our presence in Canada. We are confident the expertise and market knowledge they bring to the table will help us to accomplish our goal of inspiring more Canadian travellers to come and explore The Mile High City.”
