ORLANDO — The dinosaurs will descend upon Florida next year when Universal Orlando Resort debuts Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
Touted as Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster and based on the Jurassic World movie franchise, the highly anticipated ride will make its debut next summer at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. It will span more than 4,700 feet of track, reach heights of up to 155 feet, and will feature speeds of up to 70 mph.
Other heart-pumping highlights include two launches (the fastest reaching 70 mph in 2.4 seconds), a 360-degree barrel roll above the lagoon, a zero-gravity inverted stall that flips riders upside down across 100 feet of track, as well as 12 seconds of airtime that will give guests the sensation of weightlessness.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster will be the next addition to Jurassic Park at Universal’s Islands of Adventure where guests come face-to-face with life-size dinosaurs in theme park experiences, including ‘Jurassic Park: River Adventure’ and ‘Raptor Encounter.’ Guests can also enjoy new delectable food items inspired by the movie’s Isla Nublar.
More details about the VelociCoaster will be revealed in the coming months. To learn more go to UniversalTravelAdvisors.com. Agents are also encouraged to follow the Universal Orlando Travel Professionals Facebook Page for all the latest news and updates.
