TORONTO — Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is now requiring all guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to sailing.
The policy, effective immediately, comes on the heels of a similar vaccination requirement announced earlier this week by parent company The Travel Corporation for its guided tour brands: Trafalgar, Contiki, Insight Vacations, Costsaver, Brendan Vacations and Luxury Gold.
Uniworld guests must show documented proof of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson), with the final dose administered no less than two weeks prior to the start of their cruise/tour. Uniworld has informed all impacted guests about the new policy, which will be in effect until at least Dec. 31, 2021.
“We’re implementing this new requirement to ensure all of our guests are not only protected, but able to enjoy their river cruising experience to the fullest without restriction,” says Uniworld’s CEO and President Ellen Bettridge. “In alignment with many of the countries we travel to now requiring proof of vaccination to enter museums, restaurants and historical sites, our new policy enables a seamless travel experience.”
Michelle Palma, North American Executive Vice President of Sales for Uniworld, added that travel advisors and guests are in support of the new policy.
“Implementing this policy adds another layer of comfort in continuing to meet and exceed clients’ expectations for care and world-class service,” she said.
In addition to proof of vaccination, guests will still be required to wear a mask while in public areas like corridors and the lobby, and when required distancing cannot be maintained. Masks can be removed when seated in the lounge and restaurant. While onshore, all guests and crew are subject to local mask guidelines.
