UnCruise Adventures announces first summer sailing in Hawaii

SEATTLE — UnCruise Adventures is spending the summer in Hawaii for the first time with the addition of six departures in July and August.

Its first foray into summer island cruising will include week-long small-ship cruises that sail roundtrip from Molokai and explore Lanai, the Big Island and the sea turtle-rich waters off West Maui.

The company’s 36-guest Safari Explorer has operated Hawaii cruises from November through April since 2011. A new week-long summer itinerary will visit four islands with included activities on land and at sea.

“We’ve had our eye on operating in Hawaii during the summer, and with current demand the time is right,” said UnCruise Adventures’ owner and CEO Dan Blanchard. “Hawaii is a popular vacation destination all year, and now summer travellers can take advantage of the convenience of travelling between islands by yacht.”

The new ‘Aloha Hawaii Adventure Cruise’ sails roundtrip from Molokai, a lesser visited island with an authentic culture and Hawaiian vibe. Highlights include a home visit with a local Halawa Valley family to learn about island lore and how to make poi from taro root, a guided hike to a waterfall, an evening pa’ina feast, snorkelling off West Maui at a turtle cleaning station, kayaking through lava tubes off the Big Island, strolling through historic Kailua and more.

Cruises start at US$5,195 per person, double occupancy, and are inclusive of meals, all beverages including alcohol, adventure activities and transfers the day of the cruise. Port taxes and fees are additional. Bookings confirmed prior to March 29 will receive a $600 per couple ‘Aloha’ savings.
