SYDNEY — Scenic Eclipse II officially arrived in Australia, making a memorable entrance into Sydney Harbour before embarking on its first-ever exploration of Australian waters, a two-year series of voyages in the Oceania region.
The Sydney Harbour debut of Scenic Eclipse II was a special moment for the Australian-founded Scenic Group, and the Scenic Eclipse executive team was at Circular Quay to welcome valued guests and celebrate the occasion.
The newest addition to the company’s ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht fleet made its first stop in the port of Newcastle on April 22, the city where Scenic was founded 38 years ago.
“As an Australian-founded company, we are proud to set the global benchmark for ultra-luxury yacht cruising,” said Scenic Group Chairman and Founder, Glen Moroney.
“Scenic Eclipse II represents our commitment to continuous innovation and creating exceptional life-changing experiences,” added Moroney. “The Scenic Group team greatly appreciates the support of our travel partners and our valued guests from around the world. We look forward to welcoming Scenic Eclipse II in Newcastle, many ports along the East Coast and Top End of Australia, then continuing our journey across the Oceania region for this two-year season.”
Scenic Eclipse II will embark on its inaugural journey exploring the Australian waters, the first of a series of discovery voyages from 2024 to early 2026.
From the coastline of Queensland with the Great Barrier Reef and its stunning islands to the Northern Territory and Kimberley region, then onto the coast of Western Australia in 2025, Scenic Eclipse II will take guests on journeys of a lifetime in 6-star ultra-luxury with only 228 guests on board.
Those keen to explore further afield can enjoy the wonders of the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea, New Zealand, remote East Antarctica and the Ross Sea region.
With 114 luxurious suites, 10 unique, all-inclusive dining experiences, and a one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio, the exceptional service provided onboard Scenic Eclipse II is in a class of its own, says Moroney. Guests can also enjoy unrivalled exploration as the Discovery Yacht boasts two on-board helicopters, and the next-generation electric submersible, Scenic Neptune II – which can transport up to eight guests and dives up to 200 metres below the surface, providing 270-degree panoramic views.
Anthony Laver, Scenic Group’s General Manager, Sales and Marketing APAC, said “Scenic Eclipse II’s arrival into Sydney Harbour was a landmark moment. It is a game-changer for the local cruising industry with its unrivalled ultra-luxury spaces, new culinary experiences, two helicopters and next-generation submersible. The arrival of Scenic Eclipse II in Australian waters represents a new era in ocean cruising for this region, where ultra-luxury meets discovery.”
