U by Uniworld drops age restriction to reach wider market

TORONTO — Uniworld says it is eliminating the 21-45 age restriction and expanding its U by Uniworld ships and sailings, originally targeted to Millennials, to include adult travellers of all ages.

Uniworld says the move was prompted by overwhelming demand from trade partners and feedback from the consumer market: “We have learned that the experience is less about a number and more about attracting a new generation of adult travelers seeking a fun, immersive experience along the world’s most popular rivers.”

The branding will stay consistent with stylish ships and itineraries that focus on longer stays in destination, allowing guests to connect with local people, experiences and each city’s vibrant nightlife, says the company.

Uniworld says it has made the changes to all of its trade and consumer websites and social media channels and is creating updated FAQs for front line teams. Agents can contact their Uniworld District Sales Manager for more details.

After the debut of The B last fall, both The A and The B will set sail in April 2018 with four eight-day itineraries – The Seine Experience, Rolling on the Rhine, Germany’s Finest and The Danube Flow – sailing along the Rhine, Main, Danube and Seine Rivers, with overnight stops and longer stays available in major cities including Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam and Budapest.

U by Uniworld will also offer two five-day holiday itineraries – Dashing Through The Danube and A Merry Little Christmas Cruise – during the holiday season.

Last fall U by Uniworld announced expansion plans, setting its sights on Asia with plans to sail the Mekong River with a third ship. A fourth ship is also expected.
