WASHINGTON — CLIA has added three cruise lines to its list of Global Cruise Line Members: TUI Cruises, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, and Emerald Waterways. With these new additions, the growing number of Cruise Line Members now total 31.
“As the global cruise industry continues to thrive, CLIA is honored to welcome prestigious cruise lines TUI Cruises, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, and Emerald Waterways as Global Cruise Line Members,” said Cindy D’Aoust, president and CEO, CLIA. “CLIA’s Global Cruise Line Members play a critical role in, not only our organization, but the cruise community as a whole and every cruise line member is vital in propelling our industry forward.”
TUI Cruises is a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean, founded in April 2008. The line, offering cruises for the German-speaking market since 2009, designs every ship from bow to stern with well-being and relaxation in mind, and sails to destinations like Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean in the summer, and Canary Islands, the Orient, Asia, the Caribbean and Central America in the winter. The line is currently expanding with a new ship – the Mein Schiff 6 – setting sail this year, with two new builds planned for 2018 and 2019.
Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. It offers both river and, in 2018, ocean cruises, with destinations around the world like Europe, including France and Portugal, and Asia. The company’s scenic ships are built for adventure, whether they’re gliding down European waterways on a Scenic Space-Ship or sailing through the Amazon on South American adventures.
Lastly, Emerald Waterways, part of the Scenic Family of Brands, caters to the four-star plus market with an inclusive pricing plan using five-star ships. It sails to destinations like Amsterdam, Germany and Hungary.
