TORONTO — TRAVELSAVERS Canada has returned from its recent Elite Retreat during which is celebrated themany successes of agency owners.
Taking place from Oct. 27 to Nov. 3 on board a private charter of the Atlas World Navigator, the retreat welcomed agency owners to cruise from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, allowing them to experience for themselves the increasingly in-demand destination of South America.
“We were thrilled to bring our top-performing agencies together for this one-of-a-kind retreat as interest in South America continues to rise,” said Jane Clementino, Senior Vice President and General Manager of TRAVELSAVERS Canada. “Not only did we celebrate our advisors’ outstanding achievements, but we also offered them firsthand insights into highly sought-after destinations. This retreat allowed advisors to deepen connections with our preferred partners and uncover new ways to enhance the exceptional travel experiences they design for their clients.”
Citing data from Future Market Insights, Clementino added that South America’s tourism market is worth $320 billion and is projected to grow by 4% a year until 2030. In addition, ocean cruising continues to grow in popularity among clients of TRAVELSAVERS Canada-affiliated agencies, with sales up 14% from 2023.
During the cruise, advisors were able to explore cosmopolitan cities and historic towns throughout Brazil and Uruguay. In the resort town of Buzios, they enjoyed a day at a celebrated beach club with a local barbecue lunch. They also visited the former gold rush town of Paraty, known for its colonial charm, as well as Ilhabela and Punta del Esta where they had the chance to enjoy water sports and relax.
On board the ship, advisors participated in 1:1 meetings with suppliers, learning about the latest product and trend developments. In addition to informal networking, tours, hands-on experiences and evening events, including a Carnival-themed barbecue poolside, advisors were able to mingle on board with a special guest – Brazil native Luciana Berry, a former Top Chef Winner. Chef Berry conducted food tastings and cooking demonstrations that showcased the exotic flavours and ingredients of Brazilian cuisine.
