MISSISSAUGA — A lucky group of travel advisors had the chance recently to rub shoulders – and roll gnocchi – with celebrity chef Massimo Capra, all in support of St. Kitts.
Held earlier this month at Capra’s Kitchen in Mississauga, Ontario, the fifth instalment of St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s ‘Savour St. Kitts’ culinary event was a resounding success, reaching maximum capacity.
Participating travel advisors were able to cook Kittitian-inspired dishes side-by-side Chef Capra, who led six interactive cooking stations. Dishes included oxtail potato gnocchi, fresh seafood salad and spiced chicken.
“St. Kitts is really emerging as a foodie hotspot right now because there is this incredible array of immersive culinary experiences on offer,” said Paul Minich, Marketing Consultant for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority in Canada. “Today’s traveller wants to explore beyond their resort and dive into the local flavours and dining experiences they can have. St. Kitts is a hidden gem in this regard and people are truly amazed when they arrive and quickly discover the diverse food culture there.”
To help Canadians and travel advisors learn more about the island’s culinary offerings, St. Kitts created the Savour St. Kitts guide as a print and digital resource that celebrates its vibrant epicurean scene. From the island’s best venues for gourmet fare, to cocktail bars, beachside experiences and fine rums, the guide is a trusted resource for advisors when planning the ultimate St. Kitts getaway for their clients.
“It really touches on everything a food lover needs to know to savour the island,” added Minich.
