TORONTO — Trafalgar’s new 2015 Europe & Britain brochure offers 117 itineraries with handpicked Insider Experiences, a specialization in Ireland and a reduction in the single supplement for solo travellers.
And, exclusive to Canada, the 10% early payment discount has been extended until Jan. 15, 2015.
In Toronto this week, Patricia Schultz, author of the best-selling 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, shared 10 of her favourite places to travel in Europe, including the Lofoten Islands in Norway and the Cinque Terre on the Italian Riveria.
Schultz has been collaborating with Trafalgar on a four-city Canadian tour to promote the company’s new Europe and Britain program.
“Depending on which list you consult there are from 46 to 50 countries in Europe,” she said. “When I hear people say ‘I’ve done Europe,’ I want to shake them … there are so many places to see — Trafalgar goes to 44 (countries in Europe).”
Trafalgar has also been developing its Ireland program and working in conjunction with sister company and Celtic specialists Brendan Vacations. In 2015, the company is offering six new trips in Ireland, for a total of 19 itineraries.
The 2015 Europe & Britain brochure also recognizes solo travellers, who often feel penalized by having to pay a substantial single supplement.
That’s why Trafalgar has reduced the single supplement by as much as 50% on many of its trips, said Jeff Element, president of The Travel Corporation (Canada). In some cases the single supplement has been cut out altogether.
“It’s an important advancement for us in making our trips more accessible,” said Element.
Trafalgar and Schultz have already made stops in Winnipeg and Victoria; next up is Halifax (Nov. 4) and Ottawa (Nov. 5).
