TORONTO — Canadians will be seeing a lot more of the Emerald Isle in their own backyard, thanks to Tourism Ireland’s brand new global campaign launching this week.
Called ‘Filled your heart with Ireland,’ the campaign is all about celebrating the different ways the destination fills the hearts of visitors and locals alike, and inviting travellers to experience them for themselves. It will run across multiple channels in Canada including print, digital, out-of-home, audio and cinema, as well as Tourism Ireland’s social media platforms on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok.
The campaign is expected to deliver over 34 million global impressions in 2023.
“We are delighted to roll out our new ‘Fill your heart with Ireland’ campaign this week, showcasing what sets Ireland apart from anywhere else in the world – the characters, the coastlines, culture and ‘craic,’ to name just a few,” said Sandra Moffatt, Manager, Tourism Ireland.
“It is a hugely competitive international marketplace but our people and warm Irish welcome are key differentiators, and this campaign puts them front and centre, aiming to position the island of Ireland as a place that fills the heart and restores the spirit,” added Moffatt.
The advocacy-led campaign stars a selection of famous Irish personalities like actresses Sharon Horgan of ‘Bad Sisters,’ and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell from the award Netflix sensation ‘Derry Girls.’
Canada is Ireland’s 10th largest overseas tourism market. In 2019, the destination welcomed 248,000 tourists from Canada, the 10th consecutive year of growth.
To help spread the word about the new campaign, Tourism Ireland has created a toolkit of digital content, which is shareable across all social media and marketing platforms. It can be accessed here.
