TORONTO — Tourcan Vacations has been appointed the North American GSA for the luxury Palace on Wheels train in India.
Phillip Solomon, General Manager, Tourcan Vacations, says: “We are honoured to represent this majestic train that has been operating in Rajasthan (in collaboration with the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation) since 1982.”
Solomon also notes that the train took second place in the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards in 2023 as one of the Best Train Trips in the World.
The seasonal train operates September – April and offers luxurious cabins, high-end facilities, iconic Indian hospitality and a well-crafted signature itinerary, adds Solomon.
The train consists of 14 coaches each named after a former princely region of Rajputana. There are 39 Deluxe Cabins and two Super Deluxe Cabins with ensuite facilities.
The eight-day itinerary starts and ends in Delhi and visits Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra.
Solomon says there is plenty of sightseeing and also experiences during the journey including the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Amber Fort in Jaipur, a camel safari in Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh Fort, a visit to Ranthambore National Park and a boat ride on Lake Pichola in Udaipur. All sightseeing excursions and meals (featuring regional cuisine) are included.
An option for clients who may not want to do the entire journey is to join the train at one of its many stops and do only a portion of the itinerary. This option is subject to availability.
Tourcan is launching its partnership with Palace on Wheels with a special promotion. Bookings
made for specific departures in September and October will qualify for 50% savings for the second traveller. This applies to those doing the seven-night journey in deluxe cabins only.
