TORONTO — Sunwing Vacations is giving its travel advisor partners a first look at its initial 2025 summer schedule – along with a heads up that effective May 29, all flights with Sunwing Vacations packages will be provided by WestJet, with WestJet’s ancillaries and policies.
The move is in line with WestJet’s planned integration of Sunwing Airlines aircraft into the WestJet fleet, following its acquisition of Sunwing Airlines and Sunwing Vacations first announced back in March 2022. The integration was initially planned for October 2024, then delayed until spring 2025.
Sunwing Vacations’ summer season features direct flights from six airports across Canada to more than a dozen sun destinations, including Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Montego Bay, Varadero, St. Maarten and more.
The schedule so far includes …
- Daily flights from Toronto to Cancun, Cayo Coco, Montego Bay, Punta Cana and Varadero, four flights per week to Cayo Santa Maria, three flights per week to Holguin, two flights per week to Liberia in Costa Rica, plus weekly flights to Aruba, Freeport in Grand Bahama, Los Cabos and Puerto Plata
- Daily flights from Montreal to Cancun, Punta Cana and Varadero, four flights per week to Holguin, three flights per week to Montego Bay, plus regular flight options to Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo, Cayo Santa Maria and Cienfuegos in Cuba, Freeport in Grand Bahama, Puerto Plata, Rio Hato in Panama and St. Maarten
- Two flights per week from Québec City to Cancun and Punta Cana, plus weekly flights to Cayo Coco and Varadero
- Weekly flights from Vancouver and Calgary to Cancun, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, plus weekly flights from Edmonton to Cancun
Andrew Dawson, President of Sunwing Vacations Group, said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our initial summer lineup featuring many of the popular sun destinations our advisors and mutual clients know and love, along with trending sun destinations including St. Maarten, Freeport and Panama, further solidifying our standing as Canada’s leading vacation provider and deepening our commitment to offering accessible vacations to Canadian travellers.”
Dawson added: “Looking ahead, with the final Sunwing Airlines aircraft being integrated into WestJet’s fleet by the end of May, all Sunwing Vacations package customers will travel on board WestJet flights effective May 29. This transition will enhance connectivity and enable us to service more clients across the country on a year-round basis, and we can’t wait for more travel advisors and clients, including in the province of Quebec, to experience the benefits and value of an all inclusive Sunwing vacation this summer and beyond.”
