VANCOUVER — A group of Canadian and Australian tour operators have returned from a week-long FAM trip to Southern Utah with the goal of adding new Utah products and itineraries to their 2024 programs.
All five travel trade representatives from each tour operator, including WestWorld Tours & Women Xplorers and CAA-Quebec, all earned their certification from the new Utah Specialist Academy.
Hosted by the Utah Office of Tourism, the FAM included a ‘Rockies to the Red Rocks’ rail journey with Rocky Mountaineer that travellers from Denver to Moab, as well as visits to Monument Valley and all of Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks. The group also enjoyed a drive on the Scenic Byway 12 and visited the city of St. George before flying home through Las Vegas.
Leanne Haus, General Manager of WestWorld Tours & Women Xplorers, and a first-time visitor to Utah, said: “Utah’s natural beauty and national parks were more impressive than I imagined they would be. I was struck by how all the parks are different in their own way and there is so much to see and do in each one. The glamping-style and unique accommodations available throughout the state were also a nice addition. I will definitely be developing a new Utah itinerary for our women’s hiking tours.”
All Canadian travel trade representatives are invited to complete the Utah Specialist Academy at www.visitutahspecialistacademy.com. Travel agents can also learn more via the Travelweek Learning Centre here.
