TORONTO — Intrepid Travel marked its best-ever sales month in Canada, with bookings surging 61% year-over-year.
That was more than double the growth seen in from the U.S. market in January, says Christian Wolters, President of Canada at Intrepid Travel.
Nearly 30% of all Intrepid customers in January were Canadian.
“Canadian travel isn’t just back; it’s thriving beyond pre-pandemic levels, fueling economies and supporting millions of jobs worldwide. The comeback isn’t happening – it’s already here,” says Wolters.
The destination mix for Canada and the U.S. remains similar, with Morocco and Japan leading the way. North Africa (Morocco & Egypt) is even more popular among Canadian travellers, reflecting a growing demand for culturally rich, immersive experiences beyond the usual hotspots, says Wolters.
Intrepid’s latest travel survey found that …
