TORONTO — It was a 2-in-1 celebration for Intrepid Travel, which unveiled its newly expanded Toronto office and launched its first-ever book last week.
Dozens of guests braved the cold for a look inside the new office, which now spans 8,000 square feet as a central hub for 86 employees weekly. In total, across North America, Intrepid now has 163 employees.
Intrepid’s Leigh Barnes, President of the Americas, and Christian Wolters, President of Canada and GM of North American Marketing, were on hand to welcome guests.
“This isn’t just an office – it’s the launchpad for the next chapter of Intrepid Travel in North America,” said Barnes. “With our new Pacific Northwest HQ coming soon, we’re redefining what it means to connect, inspire and transform through travel. With these new milestones, we’re doubling down on that mission.”
The event also served as the official launch of ‘The Intrepid List: 100 Uncommon Ways to Change the Way You Travel,’ a collection of over 100 travel stories that inspire responsible, transformative adventures. Each guest in attendance received a copy of the book, which is available both online and in bookstores.
“This isn’t a bucket list – it’s a guide for the curious, the thrill-seekers and the change-makers,” added Barnes. “It’s for anyone who believes travel is about more than just seeing the world – it’s about understanding it.”
INTREPID’S 2030 STRATEGY
According to Wolters, Intrepid aims to double its yearly customers to 600,000 and achieve US$850 million in revenue by 2030, contributing 1% directly to environmental and social purpose initiatives. North America, he says, plays a pivotal role in this vision.
“North America is Intrepid’s fastest-growing market. In 2024, we saw a record number of Americans join our adventures and we’re just getting started. The future of travel is bold, sustainable and meaningful, and we’re leading the way.”
In 2024, Intrepid shattered its sales records, culminating in $73 million in bookings in November alone. Wolters says this was fueled by operational excellence, innovative strategies and skyrocketing demand.
