TORONTO — Travel community and media partners took a break to shake off the cold and snow this week to attend the G Adventures game-themed event, ‘G’evening with Friends,’ held at the Storys Building in downtown Toronto.
With a ‘sea of purple’ dress code request, it was clear that guests were in for a fun-filled night in true G style.
The G Adventure team was easily visible in their shiny purple sequined jackets. The purple-inspired gin cocktails, trivia games and a fire-breathing saxophone player, Andre, enhanced the evening’s theme – that and the promise of ‘no long speeches’ this year.

“We love our travel agents,” said David Green, VP Customer and Sales Operations & Managing Director Canada, as he welcomed attendees. “Thank you to our travel agent community. As you know, we cannot do what we do without you.”

On that note, he added: “We’re a Canadian company, and we’ve always been a brand that associates itself with travel agents.”
These days the community tourism and small group travel pioneer offers 12 travel styles and 850 trips worldwide, curated to give travellers “unique and immersive experiences,” said Green.
On hand to celebrate the agent appreciation evening were top-ranked destination partners including PromPeru, ProColombia, Visit Costa Rica, Visit Jordan Tourism, Tourism Ireland and Cuba Tourist Board.
“With all our new trips and travel styles, we’re working with our agents to keep them up-to-date with everything new. There is a high demand for community-based travel, with Canadians seeking new and alternative experiences,” said Green.
“When they book through G Adventures, they aren’t just supporting community tourism in the destination their customers visit; they are supporting a Canadian business founded in Canada 35 years ago, with our best years ahead of us, thanks to our travel agent community,” he added.
This year is the most significant product launch in G Adventures history, with over 200 new trips for 2025.
Many of these new trips focus on helping travellers explore new regions of destinations, with fewer tourists and more significant interaction with local communities.
But the evening was not just about community celebration.
The event also focused on giving back and supporting the Planeterra Foundation through a fundraising component. G team members were on hand to assist with raffle tickets sold throughout the evening, collectively raising $3,610.

The event wrapped up with raffle trip giveaways and prizes for the trivia winners. One particularly lucky travel advisor, Orangeville, ON-based Beverly Edgar from The Travel Agent Next Door, doubled her wins with a trip to Peru and also securing a spot at the GX summit in Jordan this September.
