Evan Evans Tours sees surge in demand for Scotland following hit reality show

TORONTO — Evan Evans Tours is reporting a significant spike in demand for its Scotland tours.

The surge follows the conclusion of the second season of The Traitors Canada, the popular reality competition show hosted by Canadian actress Karine Vanasse. Since January 2025, the company has seen an impressive 88.5% increase in Canadian-based searches for its Edinburgh & Scotland tour pages.

Evan Evans attributes this heightened interest to the show’s stunning portrayal of Scotland’s landscapes and historic sites, sparking what is now being called the ‘Traitors-effect’ in Scottish tourism. Fans are eager to visit the country’s breathtaking Highlands and historic cities, eager to immerse themselves in the locations featured on screen.

“Scotland’s breathtaking scenery has truly become a star of its own, captivating audiences across Canada,” said Tom Macklin, Managing Director of Evan Evans Tours. “We’ve noticed a remarkable increase in bookings from fans eager to explore the country’s unforgettable destinations. Travelling by train is the most magical way to experience the Scottish Highlands, and our Edinburgh Rail Tours offer an incredible opportunity to witness its magnificent landscapes and rich Celtic heritage.”

Reality TV Sparks Tourism Boom

Since its debut, The Traitors Canada has become one of Canada’s most-watched unscripted reality competition series, available on CTV, Crave, and Amazon Prime. The show’s unique mix of strategy and deception has captivated audiences, further amplified by the success of its French-Canadian version.

Interest in ‘The Traitors Castle,’ where much of the action takes place, has also skyrocketed. Google searches for the castle have increased by 188% after it was revealed that the show was filmed at Ardross Castle, located just over half an hour from Inverness. In response, Evan Evans Tours has introduced a new castles blog post to help fans explore these iconic landmarks.
