5Continents hosts “truly special’ fam to French Polynesia

TORONTO — A last-minute, weather-related itinerary change wasn’t enough to derail a hugely successful fam hosted by 5Continents.

Taking place from Dec. 8-18, 2024, the fam brought a select group of 10 travel advisors to the sun-soaked islands of French Polynesia, including Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora and Rangiroa.

Escorted by 5C’s Tammy Olivier, BDM for Western Canada, and Holly McCullough, Travel Designer, the fam included such memorable highlights as the 2024 Tahiti Tourisme Exchange, site inspections, island tours, snorkelling with stingrays and black tipped-reef sharks, drift snorkelling and a full day spent at the Blue Lagoon on Rangiroa.

During the trip, travel advisors gained insights into inter-island travel logistics, including Air Tahiti flights and ferry options, learned recommendations for tailoring itineraries to different client preferences, and explored how local culture enriches the overall travel experiences.

And when inclement weather forced a last-minute itinerary change, 5Continents swiftly took action to ensure minimal disruptions.

“It was amazing to see firsthand how quickly 5Continents reacted and was able to change our itinerary to fill in the blanks, which leaves me very confident about doing business with them, knowing my clients will be well taken care of,” said Shawna Flinkert with TLN’s Travel Best Bets.

For David Boigne, Managing Partner, 5Continents, the fam recalled dreams from his early years growing up in France.

“French Polynesia was the ultimate dream for me. When I first visited, I realized that the dream was real – it’s not just a paradise for honeymooners but a place that resonates deeply with all who experience it,” said Boigne. “French Polynesia is truly special, not only for its breathtaking lagoons and landscapes but also for its warm people and rich traditions. The Mana – the vital force that embodies the spirit of the islands – the people and the ma’ohi culture add a unique dimension that few destinations in the world can match.”
