TORONTO — Get ready to feel bad about your travel repertoire. We just found out a six-month-old baby has got most travellers beat in number of miles clocked.
Harper Yeats, just shy of her six-month birthday, has gained newfound fame for having travelled to every state in the United States. Her parents, Cindy Lim and Tristan Yeats, who moved from Australia to Toronto in 2015, embarked on an epic family road trip on June 17 when Harper was just eight weeks old.
Their initial route map included just 31 states, as the couple had already visited 19 of them on previous trips. But lured by the open road and the promise of family memories, Lim (who was on maternity leave) and Yeats decided to make it a full 50-state adventure, with Harper strapped snugly in the backseat.
They kept their driving time to a minimum on each leg, took long breaks to allow for wandering around, and even returned home to Toronto via car or plane every month so that Harper could stay on top of her checkups and vaccinations. The family spent about two nights in every state, sometimes longer or shorter, and made sure to update their growing fan base on social media with plenty of picturesque snaps.
They completed their trip on Oct. 18 in Vermont. Upon their return home, Yeats and Lim submitted their application to the Guinness World Records in hopes that Harper will be designated as the youngest person to have visited all U.S. states.
Whether or not she gets the title of youngest traveller, can we all agree Harper may just be the cutest? Congrats, Harper!
