TORONTO — TICO is alerting the travel industry and members of the public about the registration status of Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd.

According to TICO, Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. is not registered with the organization, as required by law to operate and sell travel services in Ontario. On April 22, 2022, TICO issued a Cease and Desist Notice against Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. from continuing their operations.

TICO has received a consumer complaint regarding Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. and is asking anyone with information or who has purchased travel services from this company to contact TICO at 1-888-451-8426 or tico@tico.ca.

It is alleged that Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. has continued to operate after its TICO registration expired on March 31, 2021, without renewal paperwork being submitted, despite several warnings from TICO.

On Nov. 8, 2021, TICO charged Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. Additionally, TICO charged Tanya Schneider-Steinbock with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence.

On April 20 and April 25, 2022, TICO charged Barrett & Carlysle Travel Ltd. with 39 additional counts of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

TICO also charged Harry P. Schneider with one count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence.
