TORONTO — The Travel Industry Council of Ontario has eliminated the seat on the board held by the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors and added an additional elected at large position.
The third elected position will be open to an individual associated with either a retail or wholesale registrant in good standing or with a marketing group of registrants. An election for the new position will be held in 2015 and the results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
“I encourage eligible candidates to consider running for a position on the TICO board,” said Michael Pepper, TICO President and CEO. “It is a great opportunity to get involved and contribute to your industry.”
At a meeting held earlier this month, members also voted to make changes to the bylaw to remove gender-specific pronouns and to update references to the Act, Administrative Agreement and Ministry in the document.
