Save the date: TICO’s Annual General Meeting

TICO AGM set for Sept. 24; nominations open for two board positions

MISSISSAUGA — TICO’s Board of Directors is accepting applications for two positions.

TICO says it’s looking for experienced leaders within and beyond the travel industry for the two board positions on the board …

  • One Industry Director (who is involved in the travel industry); and
  • One Public Director (who has no direct personal or business interest in the travel industry)

There’s a two-step application process …

The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 12.

Directors will be elected for three-year terms at TICO’s AGM on Sept. 24.

The AGM will be held virtually and will start at 5 p.m. The to-do list for the AGM includes …

  • Receiving the financial statements for the previous financial year, together with the Auditor’s Report;
  • Receiving and considering the Annual Report;
  • Appointing the auditors for the Corporation and authorizing the Board of Directors to fix the auditor’s remuneration;
  • Approving Articles of Amendment to bring the Corporation into compliance with the provisions of the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (ONCA);
  • Approving amendments to By-law No. One to comply with ONCA and related to general governance or other matters;
  • Electing directors; and
  • Transacting such other business as may properly come before the meeting

As always, only members in good standing are entitled to participate in and vote at the AGM. Members of the public are invited to watch the event. More details and instructions will be provided in the official notice of meeting, which will be released at least 30 days prior to the AGM.

Members who will not be attending the meeting can submit written requests for proxies. Copies of the audited financial statements as at and for the fiscal period ended March 31, 2024 will be posted on TICO’s website in advance of the meeting or may be requested in writing prior to the meeting.

TICO is also sharing this reminder: written notice must be received by the Secretary on or before Aug. 9 of any motions to be made at the AGM.
