UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Becoming the world’s most Instagrammable hotel is a gruelling process that includes not one, not two, but five rounds of competition against 63 top hotels and resorts in four global brackets.
This, of course, makes the win that much sweeter for whichever property does come out on top.
So which hotel was awarded the top honour by travel publication ‘Luxury Travel Advisor’?
Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, located within the Liwa Desert on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi.
This 2016-room ultra-luxe resort, which rises like a mirage from the sands of Rub’al Khali, directly competed against heavy-hitting properties in the Maldives and Southeast Asia to make it to the final bracket against North America and Europe’s top contender. Its Instagram feed, @anantaraqasralsarab, is a cinematic feast for the eyes featuring posts of golden sand dunes and classic Arabian architecture. It currently boasts more than 22,700 followers.
Within the resort itself, Arabic archways, sun-drenched terraces and traditional Islamic art create an irresistible backdrop for travel selfies. In the surrounding desert, guests are given even more visual inspiration to fill their feeds, with camels, falcons and desert sunsets available for snaps.
Judging from the photos, the win was well deserved – congratulations!
