TORONTO — How many times have you had a client call you in a panic after losing their passport, only to realize that they forgot it in the hotel safe?
It happens – a lot – even to the most seasoned of travellers, as one British Airways flight attendant can attest to. In an article originally published in Business Insider, Ty Opoku Adjei said she’s seen countless travellers forget their passports in their hotel room safe, adding that “it’s natural” to want to keep your valuables safely locked up.
But the problem is, during the last-minute dash to the airport on the day of departure, those same valuables are often overlooked.
But, said Adjej, there’s a way to help prevent this from happening, and it’s so simple that we wish we had thought of it first.
The trick? Keep one of your shoes that you plan on wearing on your journey home in the safe.
“If you do this, you’ll never leave the hotel room without checking the safe ever again,” she said.
