NASHVILLE — We can all probably agree that there’s never enough room in overhead bins on a plane, right? Well, maybe if flight attendants stopped lying in them, there’d be more space up top.
Say what?
In a recent video posted to Twitter, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant is seen lying flat on her stomach in the overhead bin of a plane in Nashville, Tennessee.
Understandably, passengers boarding the plane were more than a little shocked to find a human being taking up space where their bags should’ve gone.

Passenger Veronica Lloyd shared the video on Twitter and wrote: Is this a dream @SouthwestAir? I can’t get over how weird I find this. @SouthwestAir please get it together.”
Lloyd told Fox News that the flight attendant stayed in the bin “for a solid 10 minutes”, adding that she thought the woman had crawled up there to “make the passengers laugh.”
Southwest, known for their off-the-cuff humour, may not have found this latest stunt particularly funny. Shelley, a customer service representative, later tweeted Lloyd to request more information.

“Sounds like we could learn a bit more. Mind DMing your confirmation number?” wrote Shelley.
This prompted many people to come to the flight attendant’s defense in fear that she would be reprimanded by the airline.

“Be nice. One of the reasons we love flying SWA is because of your fun-loving attendants,” one user wrote.
In a statement to Fox News, the airline wrote: “Southwest employees are known for demonstrating their sense of humour and unique personalities. In this instance, one of our Flight Attendants attempted to have a brief moment of fun with customers during boarding. Of course, this is not normal procedure, and Southwest crews always maintain safety as their top priority.”
