SAN FRANCISCO — Airbnb has launched a new global hotel technology partnership with SiteMinder, billed as the leading cloud platform for hotels to attract and book guests around the world.
Under the partnership, traditional hospitality businesses that use SiteMinder and meet Airbnb’s hospitality standards can list rooms on the platform.
The new technology developed jointly by the two companies means hotels can now connect booking information to their existing management system in real-time.
SiteMinder has more than 28,000 clients including boutique hotels and hotel ownership groups. Airbnb says guests “can expect the locally-influenced and unique accommodations they expect when booking an Airbnb listing”.
“Small hotels and B&Bs have long used Airbnb and now we’re building new tools and partnerships to help these local businesses thrive,” Cameron Houser, Airbnb’s Program Manager for Hotels. “We are dedicated to working with small hospitality businesses that excel at offering the best guest experiences and living our mission of belonging and we couldn’t ask for a better partner than SiteMinder. SiteMinder is the industry leader and we look forward to continuing to work together to support boutique hotels and bed and breakfasts around the world.”
Mike Ford, Managing Director and Founder of SiteMinder, says: “In an increasingly-complex and competitive world, SiteMinder’s partnership with Airbnb offers a new opportunity for boutique hotels and bed and breakfasts to engage the growing number of travelers who seek exceptional hospitality and an authentic local experience. We are delighted to provide an innovative technology solution that now makes it easy for these small accommodation providers to reach the millions of customers who use Airbnb everyday, and get time back to provide memorable experiences for guests.”
