PLAYA MUJERES — The Excellence Collection has announced that two of its properties, Excellence Punta Cana and Beloved Playa Mujeres, will temporarily close as of March 20, 2020.

The company explains that this decision comes as a result of the current economic climate of the travel industry, adding that both properties are scheduled to reopen on June 5, 2020.

Any current or future reservations will remain open, however, all guests visiting Excellence Punta Cana during this period will be accommodated at its nearby sister property, Excellence El Carmen. Similarly, all guests booked at Beloved Playa Mujeres during said period will be accommodated at Excellence Playa Mujeres, which is located next door.

The hotel chain says it will go a step further by offering affected guests a suite that is equivalent or higher in quality and value to the one originally booked.

Any guests who can no longer travel on their original dates can reschedule through Dec. 22, 2020.

The company explains that while no cases of COVID-19 have been reported at any of its properties in Mexico or Dominican Republic, its team will continue to reinforce heightened cleaning and disinfection procedures and its on-site medical centres will operate 24 hours a day.
