TORONTO — If you think Tahiti is too expensive for the everyday client, think again.
According to Tahiti Tourisme, which hosted an industry event last night in Toronto, the bucket-list destination can be booked at prices comparable to package prices in the Caribbean.
“Tahiti is not like everyone thinks – $50,000 holidays. We have very reasonably priced packages starting at about $2,000,” said Colette Baert, a Tahiti Tourisme representative. “The view, the mountains, the water, everything is outstanding! Everyone needs to see how beautiful the islands are for themselves.”
With prices so affordable, it’s no wonder that bookings are up; Canadian arrivals to the island destination are up 29% from 2017.
Several suppliers were on hand at last night’s event to highlight the fact that Tahiti can be both an affordable vacation as well as an ultra-luxe destination many travellers dream about.
Exotic Journeys By TravelBrands, for example, offers a seven-night Bora Bora Memories package starting at $1,959, land only.
Goway is also offering agent rates during its flash sale that includes an eight-night vacation priced from $2,399, including air from LAX, if booked by Oct. 5.
Clients can fly to Tahiti with Air Tahiti Nui from LAX via codeshare with American Airlines, or with add-ons with Air Canada, WestJet or Delta. Air Tahiti Nui will be introducing Dreamliners shortly featuring flatbeds in Business Class and Premium Economy.
As for cruisers, Tahiti voyages are available with Paul Gauguin, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Aranui, Windstar, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean and MSC.
