BARRIE — We now live in a world where you can order and pick up fast food while sliding down a hill on your bum. What a time to be alive!
To promote the comeback of its popular Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider, Taco Bell teamed up with Barrie’s Horseshoe Resort to launch the world’s very first ‘slide-thru’ window.
The one-day only, off-the-wall attraction set up shop at Horseshoe on March 2, and featured an order box at the top of a tubing hill. After placing their order, guests then slid down the hill in their inner tube and picked up their meal from a custom-built take-out window at the bottom, where an outstretched arm awaited with baggie in hand.

Now that’s a winter sport we can fully get behind!
“Unique, exciting and off-the-wall events are an essential part of the recipe that makes Taco Bell what it is,” said Veronica Castillo, Head of Marketing at Taco Bell Canada. “This fan-favourite deserves a celebration that’s as audacious as the Crunchwrap itself, something wild and unexpected that has never been tried before.”
The Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider, available only in Canada for a limited time, comes in three flavours: Beefy Cheddar, Spicy Chicken, and Supreme.
And though the slide-thru window is now a thing of the past, we’re ready to sign a petition to make it a permanent fixture. Who’s with us?
