“It will not make a big difference for my clients”: Agents react to Swoop rumours

Swoop resumes sun flying from London, Ontario

LONDON, ON — Swoop has resumed service from London, Ontario to two sun-soaked destinations for this winter season.

London-Cancun service, which kicked off on Dec. 3 with flight WO690 departing from London International Airport (YXU) on Dec. 3, will run 2x/weekly with one-way fares starting at $179.

In addition, the ultra-low fare carrier resumed 2x/weekly service between London and Orlando, Florida on Dec. 4, with one-way fares starting at $119.

“As Canada’s leading ultra-low fare airline, we are thrilled to celebrate the return of sun flying from London, beginning with today’s flight to Cancun and tomorrow’s to Orlando,” said Bob Cummings, President of Swoop. “We know residents of the London area value the convenience and affordability that their local airport offers, and so we’re proud to make winter getaways easier with more frequent ultra-affordable flights to Mexico and Florida.”

To celebrate the restart, a gate-side ceremony was held at YXU on Dec. 3 during which travellers were treated to refreshments and giveaways. Swoop’s Senior Advisor, Public Affairs, Julie Pondant and YXU President and CEO Scott McFadzean presided over the festivities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Swoop back to YXU this winter with non-stop service to Orlando/Sanford and Cancun,” said McFadzean. “Swoop has been a tremendous partner and helped bring affordable nonstop air service to exciting destinations for London and the surrounding region. We look forward to continuing our growth and partnership in the years ahead.”

Last month, Swoop celebrated its sixth new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft entering into service. In less than 10 months, the carrier added six of these aircraft to its existing fleet of 10 Boeing 737-800 NGs, bringing its total fleet size to 16 aircraft.
