Stewart Travel Group donates $38,700 to Hospice PEI

SAINT-JEAN-DE-LOSNE, FRANCE —Stewart Travel Group has made a significant contribution to Hospice PEI, returning from two consecutive river cruise charters in France with a cheque for $38,700.

This generous donation was made possible by nearly 250 cruise guests who participated in the week-long trips, hosted by the company’s co-owners, Travis and Paula Stewart.

The cruises took place aboard AmaWaterways’ AmaCello and featured a lineup of exclusive musical entertainment. The first week showcased award-winning artist Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, alongside fiddler Anne Lindsay and Cuddy’s sons, Sam Polley and Devin Cuddy. Juno award-winner Rose Cousins also performed. The second week brought rock and blues legend Sass Jordan to the stage, accompanied by renowned Canadian musicians Derek Sharp, Steve Marriner, and Chris Caddell. Their performances energized the crowd and created unforgettable memories for all aboard.

Guests had the opportunity to contribute to the fundraiser by purchasing chances to win intimate dinners with the artists and a pair of river cruises for two, generously donated by AmaWaterways.

Travis Stewart expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, “Our guests came together in such a meaningful way, showing the true spirit of community and compassion. We feel privileged to provide experiences that bring joy and create lasting positive impacts back home in PEI.”

Paula Stewart, who has volunteered with Hospice PEI for over 20 years, conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for the guests’ generosity. “The impact of these donations will be felt across our community,” she said. “It fills my heart to see our clients come together to make such a significant difference.”

Nancymarie Arsenault, Executive Director of Hospice PEI, highlighted the importance of Stewart Travel Group’s support, saying, “Their dedication over the years and their support of our care recipients means more than words can express.”

Frances Gertsch, Trusted Senior Travel Advisor and Manager, Business Development and Talent at Stewart Travel Group, reflected on the connections formed during the cruises. “It was incredible to see our guests come together over shared passions—whether it was a love for music, a sense of community, or the spirit of travel and adventure. These journeys created bonds that will last a lifetime.”

Stewart Travel Group continues its commitment to exceptional travel experiences and fundraising efforts with plans for an upcoming river cruise featuring Blue Rodeo on the Danube River, offering yet another chance to support Hospice PEI.
