St. Vincent and the Grenadines ready to welcome back Canadians

TORONTO — A week-long roadshow brought travel advisors in the Greater Toronto Area up to date on all the supplier news from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

More than 150 agents took part in the week’s events, in Ajax, London, Oakville and Toronto.

Shelley John, Director of Sales, Canada for the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA), provided a destination update plus overviews of the various islands and some of the many hotel options.

Her introduction was followed by presentations from Jacqueline Stubbs with Palm Island Resorts and Kim Halbich, owner of Paradise Beach Hotel and President of the St. Vincent & Grenadines Hotel & Tourism Association.

Each event ended with prize draws for room nights at Petit St. Vincent Resort, Palm Island Resort, Young Island Resort and Paradise Beach Hotel. And two agents from each event won spots to participate in the spring 2023 St.Vincent and the Grenadines fam trips.

All roadshow participants were also advised on how to become an SVGPRO, using the destination’s new training program.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of our in-person roadshow this year,” says John. “Following this successful roadshow, we feel that travel agents are equipped to sell our destination confidently, and we at our Canadian office stand ready to assist agents and their clients book SVG as Canadians look for that special  vacation.”

Air Canada is set to resume its direct nonstop weekly service from Toronto to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Nov. 4, 2022, and twice weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) from Dec. 20, 2022.
