MIAMI — Fine dining on the high seas is every bit the reality with Silversea, which has announced three new Culinary Expedition Voyages for 2016 and 2017 onboard the 132-guest, all-suite Silver Explorer.
‘An Epicurean Adventure Along the Humboldt Current’ is a 14-day expedition along the west coast of South America, which sets sail on Oct. 31, 2016 from Guayaquil and ends in Valparaiso. The voyage includes a complimentary flight over the famous Nazca lines, dinner at one of Lima’s best restaurants, cocktails in Chile’s Atacama Desert and wine tasting in the Limari Valley. Onboard, passengers can participate in culinary workshops hosted by Rudi Scholdis, Silversea’s culinary director.
Silver Explorer’s South America voyage departing Oct. 25, 2017 will offer a similar culinary enrichment program as the ship again explores along the continent’s west coast.
‘Atlantic Europe’s Epicurean Journey’ departs Lisbon on May 20, 2017 and will sail north along the European Atlantic coast to Honfleur, calling in Portugal, Spain, France and Guernsey. This 11-day expedition voyage includes bite-sized pintxos in Bilbao, fresh oysters in Saint-Malo, fine wines in Bordeaux as well as market tours and cooking classes with Scholdis and David Bilsland, who oversees Silversea’s L’Ecole des Chefs program.
