EEMSHAVEN, THE NETHERLANDS — Silversea celebrated the final handover of Silver Nova last week in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, marking the ship’s official induction into the company’s fleet.
Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty was joined by Silversea Barbara Muckermann, as well as executives from building company Meyer Werft, at the official handover ceremony on July 19.
Dubbed by Silversea as the most environmentally-conscious ultra-luxury cruise ship ever built, as well as its 12th overall, Silver Nova is set to embark on its maiden voyage on Aug. 14 with a roundtrip voyage from Venice over seven days.
The vessel accommodates up to 728 guests and features an asymmetrical design, a space-to-guest ratio of 75 GRT-per-passenger, and a new selection of spacious suites, many of which offer a 270-degree view from seat to sky. Guests can also enjoy eight restaurants onboard, an unprecedented 10 bars, butler service in every suite, as well as Silversea’s acclaimed S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program, which immerses guests in everything from onboard cooking classes to engaging shore excursions.
For the ultimate pampered experience, Silver Nova also boasts the Otium spa, comprising a spa, beauty salon and fitness center, all decked out with bespoke artworks inspired by Ancient Rome.
