HAMBURG — Sea Cloud Cruises has cancelled this year’s St. Petersburg calls of its new sailing vessel the Sea Cloud Spirit.
The Hamburg-based shipping company said it made the decision based on the current developments in the Ukraine. St. Petersburg had originally been on the itinerary four times for the Baltic Sea premiere of the three-master full-rigged ship.
Sea Cloud Cruises says it will now develop a new itinerary for the voyages in June and July 2022, adding that passengers already booked on these itineraries have received a heads up.
Sea Cloud operates a fleet of three masted, full-rigged luxury tall ships; the 64-passenger Sea Cloud, the 94-passenger Sea Cloud II and the recent new-build 136-passenger Sea Cloud Spirit. Sea Cloud Cruises is set to be acquired by The Yacht Portfolio, the company behind The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, as reported last month.
