VANCOUVER — Scenic Tours has unveiled plans for its latest river cruise ship, the Scenic Spirit, which will launch on the Mekong River in January 2016.
The 68-guest Scenic Spirit will be the most luxurious ship to sail the Mekong, said the company. Itineraries range from eight days between Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap to a 27-day exploration that combines land and cruise, and ventures from Hanoi to the Laos city of Luang Prabang.
Although downloadable brochures will not be available until mid-December (hardcopy in mid-January) guests are able to pre-book by contacting their travel agent.
The 34 suites offer the largest all-balcony one-bedroom suites on the river, all with separate bedroom, living room and balcony, and range in size from the generous 350² Deluxe Suite complete with the Scenic Sun Lounge up to the impressive 865² Royal Panorama Suite – the largest suite on any river cruise ship in the world. This premier suite features four separate zones – bathroom with extra-large bathtub, rainfall shower and walk-in dressing room; bedroom; living room and outdoor forward facing deck complete with daybed, Jacuzzi and al fresco dining table.
The five-star Scenic Spirit boasts four dining venues – from a la carte to casual to specialty dining with a chef to in-room service – while the food incorporates the freshest local produce. A lavish resort style pool deck and bar, full spa with sauna and steam room, and spacious bar and lounge offer plenty of relaxing options plus there is a Sun Deck with open air cinema.
As with all Scenic river cruises, guests will enjoy a truly all-inclusive structure: all meals, all drinks 24/7 including daily mini-bar replenishment, all excursions including the Scenic FreeChoice activities that allow the guest to personalize their experience plus Scenic Enrich special events, WiFi, airport transfers and all tips and gratuities.
