Scenic Eclipse II crew mark the ship's fifth anniversary

Scenic Group celebrates fifth anniversary of Scenic Eclipse

Vancouver — Scenic Group is marking a significant milestone this month with the fifth anniversary of ScenicEclipse, its pioneering ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht.

The yacht, which was officially christened by Dame Helen Mirren in New York City on September 10, 2019, has been celebrated for its innovative design and world-class service. With a capacity of only 228 guests (and 200 in Antarctica), Scenic Eclipse offers an intimate, all-inclusive luxury experience. Guests can enjoy sophisticated amenities, including a 550-square-metre Senses Spa, gym, yoga studio, and up to 10 fine dining experiences on board.

Building on this success, Scenic launched Scenic Eclipse II in March 2023, further raising the bar with features such as an expanded spa, a Sky Deck with private cabanas, and new destinations across Oceania. Additionally, Scenic’s sister brand, Emerald Cruises, introduced Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara in recent years, with a third luxury yacht, Emerald Kaia, set to sail in 2026.

In celebration of Scenic Eclipse’s five-year milestone, Scenic is offering Canadian travellers a 5% bonus savings on select 2025-2026 voyages. This promotion is available for bookings made by Sept. 30, 2024, and can be combined with Scenic’s Best Available Offers.

“Since the debut of Scenic Eclipse in 2019, we have set the benchmark in ultra-luxury ocean cruising. Our commitment to innovation continues with the upcoming launch of Emerald Kaia and our plans to expand the Discovery Yachts fleet,” said Scenic Group’s Founder and Chairman Glen Moroney.

EXCITING ADVENTURES, NEW DESTINATIONS

Key highlights of Scenic Eclipse’s five years at sea include unique wildlife encounters, such as the first helicopter landing on Antarctica’s Snow Hill Island in 2023, where guests had the chance to see Emperor penguins up close. Scenic’s two on-board helicopters provide guests with an exclusive way to view Antarctica’s stunning landscapes and wildlife, while ensuring minimal disruption to the environment.

For those seeking underwater exploration, Scenic Neptune I and II – the yacht’s custom-designed submersibles – offer 360-degree views up to 100 metres beneath the ocean’s surface. In 2024, Scenic Neptune II will introduce an even more immersive experience with added seating and enhanced technology.

Looking ahead, Scenic has unveiled new itineraries for 2025, including a 13-day cruise through Ireland, Scotland, and Iceland, and a 16-day voyage exploring Indonesia’s archipelago. Canadians can take advantage of these exclusive ultra-luxury offerings while enjoying the convenience of all-inclusive pricing, ensuring every need is met during their journey.

WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON

Scenic Eclipse II will venture further into Asia and visit East Antarctica for the first time in December 2024. In 2026, Scenic Eclipse will also navigate Europe’s rivers, including the Thames, docking in London’s vibrant city centre, and also the Baltic region.

Also comprising Emerald Cruises, the Scenic Group offers nine Star-Ships that navigate the rivers of Europe and the Mekong. Scenic and Emerald Cruises’ combined 18 luxury river cruise ships are currently undergoing a fleet-wide, multi-year design update, including new layouts and modern furniture. Scenic’s Space-Ships will be updated to reflect the design features of the ultra-luxury Discovery Yachts Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II.
