VANCOUVER — Scenic has launched new bonus offers to celebrate 10 years of cruising along France’s historic waterways.
Lisa McCaskill, VP of Sales & Marketing, Scenic Group Canada, marked the milestone by honouring Scenic’s long history of innovation.
“Over the past 37 years, we have always put the guest experience at the heart of everything we do, creating innovative experiences to make memories that last a lifetime,” she said. “We are delighted to be celebrating this exciting 10-year milestone with our guests, cruising through the beautiful Seine, Rhône and Saône rivers and the waterways of Bordeaux.”
Through Aug. 31, 2023 guests can book with France Special Promotions and receive a bonus nights’ accommodation and experience. For Bordeaux and Saône/Rhône Cruises guests receive one nights’ accommodation and a French cooking class in a local atelier. On the Seine, there is a bonus of one nights’ accommodation and a private Parisian city tour in a 2CV.
These offers are combinable with free or reduced Economy airfare (or an air credit of up to CAD $1,200 per person) plus fare savings of up to $1,200 per person. All offers applicable on select river cruises and cabin categories and full payment is due 10 months prior to departure or at the time of booking if within 10 months.
Over the past 10 years, Scenic has celebrated several milestones, including:
-
Scenic Sun Lounge, 2012: Scenic was the first, and to date, only river cruise line to have Sun Lounges on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. The original walkout balconies (also a first in the industry back in 2008) were redesigned in 2012 so that the upper half of a full-wall glass window retracts up and down with the touch of a button.
-
Launched France River Cruising, 2013: The South of France itinerary, the line’s first French offering, combined the local villages and romantic cities of the region with amazing wines and food pairings, all available from a new Scenic Space-Ship. Scenic now has three Space-Ships based in France.
-
Scenic Culinaire, 2017: Scenic Culinaire is France’s only onboard cooking school, using dedicated space to offer immersive courses in the Rhône, Saône and Bordeaux regions. Fresh ingredients are sourced from local markets and the cooking instructors introduce guests to regional recipes based on the itinerary’s regions.
-
Scenic Salt Therapy Lounge, 2017: In 2017, Scenic became the first and continues to be the only river cruise operator to feature Salt Therapy Lounges on France’s waterways. The three-station salt lounge features a humidity- and temperature-controlled room handcrafted from salt bricks, creating a micro-climate of a natural salt mine. Three inclined lounging chares are separated by light curtains, and low-level lighting and calming music promotes the natural relaxing effects of the salt.
In France, Scenic offers several journeys, including Bordeaux Affair, Beautiful Bordeaux, Spectacular South of France, Idyllic Rhône, Highlights of Normandy & the Seine, and Normandy & Gems of the Seine.
