BARBADOS — Sandals Resorts International’s Tobago development will include a Sandals Resort and a Beaches Resort side by side.
Jeremy Jones, Corporate Services Director for SRI, offered the latest details about the project at a media conference at Sandals Royal Barbados, according to reports in Trinidad and Tobago Newsday.
Said Jones: “Tobago will end up being one of our largest projects … as a result of having a Sandals and a Beaches side by side. We’ve never really done that before but we feel that to benefit economies of scale, being able to bring two operations under one umbrella so close to each other and with our estimation, [this is] an ideal location to do this: the Sandals brand with close to 300 rooms and the Beaches brand [with] about 450-500 rooms. So it’s an entire development complex, about 700 rooms, but two different brands.”
Adam Stewart, CEO and Deputy Chairman of Sandals Resorts International said at the time: “Exploration is the discovery of what’s to come and the fear of doing something new. It’s where entrepreneurs come from and it’s where innovation happens.
“We don’t want to be anything but the best, and we always want to outperform.”
