BARBADOS — Sandals Resorts has welcomed its first guests here with the official opening of Sandals Barbados, the newest addition to the Luxury Included portfolio.

Newlyweds Eva Kowalski and Thomas Ulewicz from Chicago were the first to check-in to the property, greeted by the newly appointed General Manager of Sandals Barbados, Josef Zellner.

Originally from Austria, Zellner is no stranger to Sandals Resorts and has made the Caribbean his second home. He comes to Barbados most recently from Sandals Montego Bay where he served as General Manager for the past four years. With over 30 years of hospitality experience, he previously oversaw both Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa and Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa.

“Barbados is a beautiful island that I have already begun to fall in love with,” said Zellner. “This resort is a great addition to our brand and I look forward to welcoming more guests to our newest destination and continuing to share our renowned Sandals hospitality.”

Sandals Barbados offers a selection of 280 luxury accommodations that range from beachfront suites to rooms situated in the resort’s lush tropical garden. A program of enhancements is planned to further ‘Sandalize’ the property, with changes to the design aesthetic and the addition of new restaurants.
