RIVIERA NAYARIT — In working to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in time for Riviera Nayarit’s reopening expected later this summer, The Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau has unveiled a Tourism Wellness and Best Practices Guide.
The guide outlines the new standard of sanitation and safety protocols outlined by established health organizations such as the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the world’s leading nations and major hotel brands. It’s meant to serve as a resource for local establishments seeking guidance on how to best be prepared for the resumption of global travel.
“Our ability to adapt and reach new heights is what attracts top tier brands and world-class travelers to the region,” says Marc Murphy, managing director for the Riviera Nayarit CVB. “The CVB is ready to support our destination partners to once again rise to the challenge and elevate Riviera Nayarit’s safety and sanitation standards that will allow us to be ready to welcome travelers back to Mexico’s Pacific treasure.”
The guide includes the following: traveller and employee expectations; best practices and sanitation protocols specific to hotels, restaurants, airports, tour operators and spas; proper health screenings; credible resources and certification programs; and more. Although not mandatory, local establishments can implement the practices outlined in the guidelines to regain consumer trust and elevate the region’s safety and sanitation standards.
In preparation for the summer reopening of its tourism sector (pending official date from state and federal authorities), Riviera Nayarit will continue to work closely with the local and federal Mexican Government to be prepared for when travel resumes.
