TORONTO — Riu Dunamar in Cancun has officially opened its doors, reinforcing the relationship between RIU and Sunwing.
Exclusively offered by Signature Vacations by Sunwing, the newly constructed, five-star hotel is situated north of Cancun’s hotel zone and boasts 740 rooms with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, stocked minibar, liquor dispensers and more.
Guests can take advantage of five different dining options as part of their all-inclusive package, including Italian dishes at Pompeya, gourmet dining at Kulinarium, and Asian cuisine at Bamboo. The resort’s main buffet restaurant, Isla Mujeres, offers both local and international menu options, while Las Brasas steakhouse is also sure to be a popular choice.
Other resort highlights include five outdoor swimming pools, two of which feature swim-up bars, a large water park, the complimentary RiuLand kids club, live shows and musical performances, a disco, the on-site Renova Spa with hydro massage suite, and an extensive activity and sports program.
RIU and Sunwing recently celebrated the new property at their annual holiday lunch in Toronto. There, Deana Murphy, Sunwing ‘s Vice President Retail Sales, praised RIU for “opening their resorts when they say they will”, while RIU’s Director of Business Development & Partner Marketing, USA & Canada, Hugo Aguilera, thanked travel agents for supporting them through a “very challenging year” marked by hurricanes and the Mexico travel warning from the U.S.
Sunwing will offer packages to Riu Dunamar from 19 gateways this coming season, including a new flight service from Mont-Joli, Quebec that will be available weekly from Dec. 21, 2017 to March 22, 2018 inclusive. All vacation packages to Riu Dunamar also include nonstop roundtrip transfers from Cancun International Airport.
